ASEA Naval Architects (ANA) is a professional marine design and survey company specialising in small craft up to large super yachts i.e private motor yachts, passenger ferries, patrol boats, dinner cruise boats, charter boats, landing barges
ANA established in 1998 (formally Naval Architects Australia), is a small professional company that offers a wide scope of marine design and survey services to the ship & boat building industry, private owners, fellow yacht designers and naval architects.
From the conceptual, preliminary design and analysis stages of general arrangement, weight estimate, hull lines development, stability, structure and resistance through to the final design stages of detailed construction, classification, and survey drawings, CNC cutting data, stability incline test and report, sea trails and operating manuals.
Situated on the Gold Coast Queensland Australia, host to the Sanctuary Cove International Boat Show, and one of Australia’s main boating cities, ANA reach of clientele extends beyond its home waters to neighbouring countries such as Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam, P.R China, Taiwan, and Sth Korea and even further abroad, Europe and USA.
ANA design office is fully equipped with up-to-date computer hardware and software, capable to handle any size project. In the near future ANA is to implement a quality assurance management system in accordance with AS/NZS ISO 9001:2000 for Ship Design, Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering Services. ANA maintains close associations with fellow engineering companies for support in specialised design and engineering projects if required.

Tim Withrington
Director and Principle Naval Architect
Director Tim Withrington, an honours graduate from the Australian Maritime College in Naval Architecture, heads up the company’s everyday design, engineering and survey operations.
Tim is a trade certified boat builder with over twenty years experience in the boat building trade, a IMCI CE Inspector and NMMA US Inspector for recreational craft under 24m, and a Qualified Marine Surveyor for AMSA, Maritime New Zealand, Marshall Islands, Cayman Islands and Cook Islands private and commercial vessels
Tim is also a member of the Royal Institute of Naval Architects (RINA).
Tim's aim is to provide state of the art, innovative and practical solutions to clientele with dialogue and personal service being the key parts of the process.
